SUMMARY:Readers & Writers Festival 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival is the flagship annual literature event of Arts Margaret River. It is the biggest regional literary event in Western Australia and aims to foster a love of literature and the arts within the community. \nThis year we will have the guest author Tim Blue who wrote “Whale Hunters of the West” visiting Augusta. The book talks about our region so we are looking forward to a lovely afternoon full of sea stories and local connection. \nTim Blue has been a print and broadcast journalist for the past forty years in Perth\, Sydney and overseas\, working with the ABC\, commercial radio and television’s Channel Nine and SBS. \nHis interest in whalers was piqued while finding whalebones during a childhood in Busselton. \nResearch for Whale Hunters of the West has taken him to northern France\, and to the north eastern United States\, home of its huge whaling fleet. \nVenue: The Centennial Hall \nDate: 18th May 2024 \nTime: 2 – 3:30pm \nTickets available from the Arts Margaret River website closer to the date.
