CRC receives $50,000 to support new Traineeship role in Augusta

On 11 February, the Minister for Regional Development announced that the Augusta Community Resource Centre (CRC) was one of 35 CRCs successful in their application for a one year Traineeship. The program is a competitive grants scheme available to WA Community Resource Centre (CRC) Network members and select regional Local Government Authorities (LGA) to assist with the cost of employing a trainee.

The one-off payment supports vocational training to develop trainee skills and knowledge to help meet the needs of local businesses and industry in the regions.

CRC Chair Fred Monahan said, “I am ecstatic to learn of our success and to give a local person the opportunity to join the local CRC team and learn new skills.” We have had many DPIRD successful Trainee grants in the past to support a local person to be trained under the Traineeship program, so are pleased to be able to offer this again in 2026. The Trainee position will be advertised as a full-time Receptionist and Events Officer role closing 13 March 2026. The Trainee is required to enrol in Certificate III in Business (Customer Engagement) at TAFE as part of funding requirements.
